Los Bomberos is a non-profit organization that is led by ten executive board members which include a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and six at large directors. The executive board holds elections every year in December and nominates and elects the leadership team. One of the directors is a non-voting member emeritus who represents the retirees.

Los Bomberos de Los Angeles abides by the parliamentary process and Roberts Rules of Order to conduct official board meetings. Every three years, Los Bomberos requests nominations from members in good standing willing to serve on the board. The elections are conducted in November and the new member(s) are installed during the first board meeting in January.

The Board may appoint an Executive Director to manage the operations of Los Bomberos.
